ADI Training with M8 Driving School
Ever thought of being an Approved Driving Intructor? Give Steven Porter a call and discuss what is needed to become one. It´s not for everyone and does need someone who is determined and has time on their hands to put in what is needed to pass the three (theory, driving and teaching/coaching) DVSA exams. If you think you have the drive and determination to help others fulfill their dream of having a driving license and in turn give you the satisfaction of knowing you have changed their life for the better call 07747 600 672 and we can get you started.
George Holland from Paisley passed his 3 ADI tests with us. Read what he had to say regarding his training.
"I´d just like to say a big ´thank you´ to you for all your help and assistance in my successful attempt at becoming an ADI. I was impressed from very early on in my training with your teaching methods and how you put them across. I have no doubt that you played a large part in my success and I will have no hesitation in recommending you for Instructor training and will be back for more when my Standards Check comes round. Wishing you every success in the future and hope to see you on the road soon!
Thanks again,
George."
Standards Check training from a Grade 6 ADI Fleet & SAFED Coach.
Wanting to improve on your last grade?
Standards Check coming up?
First Standards Check ?
Nervous?
The Check test as we know it is changing to a new Standards check which is coming into force in April 2014. The DSA (driving standards agency) has changed their name recently to the DVSA (driving and vehicle standards agency) since merging with VOSA. This is not the only change that´s happening as on your new Standards check you will be asked to show a more Client Centred Learning approach to your pupils. Find out what techniques can be used to achieve what the examiners will be looking for with a one days coaching and development day with Steven Porter (see below).
Steven Porter is a Grade 6 Approved Driving Instructor and is also a Fleet, NDORS & SAFED Coach working out of Paisley and Glasgow. He has attended the University Of East London studying Coaching for Driver Development and has a Btec in coaching for driver education. The last few years has been a very busy period and has seen Steven pass his Diploma in Fleet Training, SAFED Training and also is a Practitioner in NLP (
Nuero-Linguistic Programming), In October 2012 Steven went to London to sit a Practitioners course with the founder of NLP Dr Richard Bandler (The man who Taught Paul McKenna). On his last check test Steven received straight sixes. It´s not rocket science, it just needs commitment from you and some coaching.
Poor training during your PDI days makes it harder to reach the holy grail of a Grade 6 or now a Grade A. That doesn´t mean you can´t achieve it though. Of course you can. Putting a bit of work in with a good coach can help you to achieve a higher grade than you currently have, and possibly reaching that Grade 6 we all strive for.
Peter Mitchell from Dundee
I failed my first Standards Check, so decided to give you a call and after 4 hours tuition from you was enough to bring my standard up to 1 point off an A Grade.
Excellent tuition and I´m sure if I´d had another few hours, I´m certain it would have been an A Grade I got.
Would definitely recommend tuition from you to anyone.

Mick Cannon came to us for his first Standards Check and this is what he had to say regarding his training:
I recently contacted Steven about a forthcoming Check Test I was due to attend. As this new test was only introduced this year I was keen to be totally prepared. On meeting Steven I was immediatly impressed with his enthusiasm and professional knowledge. Steven explained about coaching and client centred method of teaching then put it all together with a demo drive. Without his help I wouldnt have managed the ´B´ grade I achieved one mark away from an ´A´.
Thanks Steven.
Mick.
Alistair Stewart came to us for his check test training.
"Dear Steven,
Thank you for your invaluable help in getting me through my recent check test. Without your help, today I might be driving a taxi.
Your knowledge and patience were really impressive and greatly appreciated, but important as that is, your way of imparting the information impressed me.
Alistair Stewart"
It´s extremely important to have a structured plan before you go in for your check test. It´s no use trying to wing it and hope for the best. The best way to prepare for your check test? Teach each lesson as if it is a check test. That way you´ll go into it teaching what you have always taught.
Knowing what´s involved and what the examiner is looking for helps you on your way to a top grade.
Give Steven a call on 07747 600 672 or 01505 345 372 to start your pathway to a better grade!!

The government missed an opportunity to make this profession more professional when CPD was not made compulsory, but that doesn´t mean you have to stop improving. Be one step ahead of your competitors and better yourself by improving the skills you have already. CPD is all about you continuing to want better for you and your pupils, and we have the tools here for you to do that.

ADI In-car Coaching and Development Course.
"I recently attended an in-car coaching and development course with M8 Driver Training. Owner Steven Porter delivered the training to a very high standard and was very professional throughout. The information pack I received has been of great help as I have been able to go back and read over what was covered within the training, instead of trying to remember what was said or done on the day. Since my training with Steven I have managed to implement some of the coaching techniques Steven showed through-out the day and my pupils have noticed these differences too. If you are an ADI and are thinking about coaching Steven Porter from M8 Driver Training is definitely the man you should be speaking to, Steven spoke about his passion for coaching within driving lessons and I am pleased to say I found the whole day very informative."
